Data Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain ETL processes with Python, PySpark, Azure Synapse Analytics Notebooks, and Synapse Pipelines.
• Design and build data warehouse structures using star schemas, facts, dimensions, and MPP SQL pools.
• Extract and transform data from REST APIs, SQL database tables, and CSV files.
• Design data models and schemas with data architects and implement data quality checks and validation.
• Optimize pipeline and query performance, monitor ETL jobs, troubleshoot issues, and meet SLAs.
• Document data flows and transformations while collaborating with cross-functional teams on data initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ETL data engineering experience with Python and PySpark.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics Notebooks, Pipelines, Linked Services, and Azure Key Vault.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries and optimize SparkSQL and MS SQL performance.
• Knowledge of data integration practices, Git or Azure DevOps, data security, compliance, and governance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Azure Data Engineer or related data engineering and data science certifications.
• Familiarity with big data technologies, machine learning, and data analysis.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, and Agile methodologies.
