Principal AI Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Boston, Massachusetts; attendance at the Boston office is required three days per week. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Annual base salary: $152,000–$283,000, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Build and own the AWS hosting, deployment, and infrastructure-as-code layer for internal AI agents and tools using Bedrock, Cognito, and CDK or Terraform.
• Design and implement the Accountability Registry, Agent Registry, and Tool & App Catalog for agent ownership, identity, permissions, data scope, approvals, and audit trails.
• Develop identity-inheritance patterns using Cognito, IAM, scoped tokens, and least-privilege authorization.
• Create templates, SDK helpers, deployment paths, observability, and cost-tracking capabilities for internal agent builders.
• Implement security tooling, scans, audits, MCP governance hooks, and DLP signals in partnership with Compliance and IT.
• Evangelize the platform through documentation, demonstrations, lunch-and-learns, and office hours.

Requirements

• Deep AWS expertise, including Bedrock, Cognito, IAM, EventBridge, Lambda, DynamoDB or PostgreSQL, and infrastructure as code.
• Experience designing identity and authorization systems with OAuth 2.1, scoped tokens, role inheritance, and least-privilege access.
• Production experience shipping LLM-backed systems, with knowledge of token cost, latency, evaluation, observability, and determinism.
• Ability to design developer-focused SDKs, registry schemas, and platform experiences.
• Familiarity with MCP or comparable agent-tool patterns and their security boundaries.
• Fluency in Python, TypeScript, or Go, with strong communication skills for technical, executive, and customer audiences.

• Experience with AgentCore, SageMaker, or Workshop Studio.
• Experience building MCP servers.
