Clearance Specialist (Customs Compliance)

Location: Markopoulo, Greece; hybrid position

What you will do

• Manage complex import and export customs clearance activities in line with applicable legislation and company policies.
• Provide expert guidance on special customs procedures, customs regimes, restricted commodities, and non-standard clearance cases.
• Interpret national, European Union, and international customs legislation and translate it into practical operational guidance.
• Monitor regulatory changes, assess their operational impact, and support process and system improvements.
• Act as a customs subject matter expert for Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and other business functions.
• Liaise with Customs Authorities, resolve customer customs issues, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of import and export customs procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to manage complex customs clearance cases and provide technical guidance.
• Experience working with Customs Authorities and regulatory agencies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and customs-related systems.

Nice to have

• Experience in customs brokerage, international trade, or customs compliance.
• Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and implementing regulatory changes.
• Knowledge of the EU Customs Code and international trade regulations.
• Experience delivering training or acting as a customs subject matter expert in a multinational environment.
