Data Center Virtualization Engineer (VMware)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization platforms across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
• Manage software-defined networking and storage using vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu technologies.
• Automate platform operations, capacity management, and recurring infrastructure tasks.
• Operate VMware environments at enterprise scale alongside modern cloud-native workloads.
• Troubleshoot issues across compute, network, and storage layers.
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery patterns using SRM.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least five years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience; the position lists six or more years of experience.
• Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, storage policy management, and NSX-T or NSX-V networking.
• Strong PowerCLI scripting and automation tooling experience.
• Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.
• Strong disaster recovery, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• VMware Certified Professional or VCAP credentials.
• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, GCVE, VMware Cloud Foundation, or Aria Operations.
• Exposure to migrations from VMware to alternative virtualization platforms.
