SAP ABAP Developer (S/4HANA)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Design and develop custom ABAP programs, enhancements, BAPIs, BADIs, user exits, interfaces, and enterprise reports in SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Build performant CDS views, AMDPs, HANA-optimized ABAP code, OData services, RESTful APIs, and SAP Gateway services for Fiori applications and non-SAP integrations.
• Develop and maintain integrations using IDocs, RFC, BAPI, Web Services, and SAP API Hub.
• Translate business requirements into documented technical designs in collaboration with functional consultants and business stakeholders.
• Perform unit, functional, and integration testing; resolve defects during UAT and post-go-live hypercare.
• Lead performance tuning, support S/4HANA upgrades and conversions, conduct clean-core assessments, implement secure development practices, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• U.S. work authorization is required: U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, and H-1B transfer candidates may apply.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of professional ABAP development experience, including significant S/4HANA work; the position lists 12+ years of required experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise with ABAP OO, CDS views, AMDPs, HANA-optimized ABAP, OData, Fiori integration, and enhancement frameworks.
• Experience with IDoc, RFC, BAPI, Web Services, performance tuning tools such as SAT and ST05, HANA diagnostics, SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, and transport management.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and technical design skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with S/4HANA system conversions or greenfield implementations.
• Exposure to SAP BTP, ABAP RAP, or steampunk.
• Hands-on Fiori/UI5 development experience.
• Familiarity with SAP CPI / Integration Suite.
• SAP-certified ABAP developer credentials.
