Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Location: United States; flexible hybrid work with New York City employees onsite three days per week and monthly Work Together Days for employees based in Boston, Washington, DC, Chicago, Seattle, and San Francisco

Salary: $230,000–$270,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Drive the technical vision and roadmap for infrastructure teams.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable systems supporting platform and backend teams.
• Design and implement cloud-based solutions for system agility, flexibility, and scalability.
• Lead technical design discussions and guide engineering practices, coding standards, and architecture principles.
• Lead cross-functional development of products and features that meet customer and quality requirements.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and evaluate emerging technologies that improve engineering efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in backend development and platform architecture.
• Experience designing complex distributed systems, including microservices, containerization, and orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including infrastructure as code and serverless architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, plus proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience leading technical discussions, solving complex problems, collaborating cross-functionally, and mentoring engineers.
