Partnership Manager (AI for Science)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.

Annual salary: $170,000–$215,000 USD.

What you will do

• Execute the AI for Science API credit program and manage day-to-day partnerships with academic labs, startups, and potentially foundations.
• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and support partners through application calls and targeted relationship building.
• Coordinate with Applied AI, product, and go-to-market teams as the primary relationship owner for AI for Science.
• Translate partners’ technical and operational needs into deployment plans, including early prototyping and testing.
• Compile ecosystem reports, manage program timelines and resources, and inform research and go-to-market priorities.
• Build scientific communities of practice, identify public-good opportunities, and represent Anthropic at conferences and scientific convenings.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in or around life sciences research.
• Experience building communities of practice where scientists explore and adopt new technologies.
• A growing network across life sciences universities, research institutes, and tools companies.
• Technical fluency in AI concepts and LLM capabilities and limitations, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams.
• Analytical, entrepreneurial, and highly organized approach with experience using data to measure impact and managing multiple partnerships.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field; willingness to travel occasionally for partner visits and conferences.

Nice to have

• Experience managing external partnerships, grantmaking, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Experience working with philanthropic foundations on science funding.
• Background in biotech, academic research, funding, or scientific research and technology product roles.
• Wet-lab research experience and strong scientific communication skills.
