Partnership Manager, AI for Science

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid with at least 25% of working time in an Anthropic office

Annual salary: $215,000–$300,000 USD

What you will do

• Own and execute the AI for Science API credit strategy across academic labs, startups, and potentially philanthropic foundations.
• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage scientific partners and serve as the primary relationship owner for the program.
• Coordinate with Applied AI, product, and go-to-market teams to translate partner needs into deployment plans.
• Manage program timelines, resources, reporting, and ecosystem learnings to inform research and go-to-market priorities.
• Prototype and test technical solutions with partners, and develop a research agenda for measuring AI’s impact on individual labs.
• Build communities of practice, identify public-goods opportunities, represent Anthropic at scientific conferences, and help scale team processes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in life sciences research and 3+ years managing external partnerships, grantmaking, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Deep relationships and credibility across life sciences, including major universities, research institutes, and technology companies.
• Technical fluency in AI concepts and LLM capabilities and limitations, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams.
• Analytical, prioritization, and program-management skills, including experience using data to measure impact and managing numerous partnerships.
• Experience building communities of practice and creating programs or organizations from scratch.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or relevant professional experience; willingness to travel occasionally for partner visits and conferences.

• Experience working with philanthropic foundations on science funding.
• Background in biotech companies, academic research institutions, funding, or scientific research and technology product roles.
• Wet-lab research experience and strong scientific communication skills.
