Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

What you will do

• Build and maintain ingestion pipelines in Microsoft Fabric Data Factory for APIs, databases, SaaS platforms, and file-based feeds.
• Develop and test Bronze, Silver, and Gold transformation models using medallion architecture and modular SQL modelling.
• Design dimensional models and datasets supporting multi-entity, multi-currency, and multi-country data.
• Monitor pipeline health, investigate failures, handle source schema changes, and improve reliability and operating cost.
• Implement data quality tests and prepare governed datasets for BI developers, semantic models, and downstream applications.
• Collaborate with BI developers and business stakeholders to translate analytical needs into reliable pipelines and models.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining production data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data manipulation, automation, and API-based ingestion.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Synapse Data Warehouse or Lakehouse, and OneLake, or equivalent Azure technologies.
• Practical experience with transformation frameworks, tested SQL modelling, data warehousing, ELT, and dimensional modelling.
• Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of GDPR, personal data handling, role-based access, and data security practices.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating newly acquired businesses or consolidating data across legal entities.
• Experience using Power BI as a consumer of data models.
