ESG & CSR Bias Mitigation Specialist (AI) (AI/ML fairness): Analyzing algorithms and datasets to identify bias, developing mitigation strategies, and integrating fairness techniques into AI development with an accent on statistical analysis, data diversity, and ethical AI. Focus on designing validation experiments, improving bias detection tools, documenting results, and collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and product teams.
Location: Remote, with hybrid options in Toronto
Compensation: $32 per hour

What you will do
- Analyze AI algorithms and datasets to identify sources of bias and inequity.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve fairness in AI outcomes.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to integrate bias mitigation into AI workflows.
- Develop and improve tools and methodologies for bias detection and correction.
- Design experiments, validate mitigation techniques, and refine approaches based on results.
- Provide internal training, maintain documentation, and prepare reports on bias mitigation processes.
Requirements
- Master’s program enrollment or completion is mandatory in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience in AI/ML development, bias mitigation, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages, plus experience with AI/ML frameworks.
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, fairness metrics, algorithmic bias, and data diversity principles.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, interpersonal, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AI Fairness 360, SHAP, LIME, or similar bias detection and mitigation tools.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
