Senior Medical Scientist, Global Medical Affairs (Rare Disease)

Location: Washington, D.C., United States. Approximately 30% travel may be required.

What you will do

• Support the development and execution of global medical strategy for Rare Disease in collaboration with the Global Medical Affairs Lead and cross-functional partners.
• Translate scientific, clinical, and external stakeholder insights into medical priorities addressing unmet patient needs.
• Plan and execute medical advisory boards, scientific congress activities, symposia, and other scientific engagement initiatives.
• Build relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, patient advocacy organizations, professional societies, and other external stakeholders.
• Lead or support global evidence-generation initiatives, including real-world evidence, and contribute to clinical development programs and evidence-gap analysis.
• Support product lifecycle management, launch readiness, scientific publications, HEOR activities, promotional materials, and compliant medical communications.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience; or master’s degree and 4 years; bachelor’s degree and 6 years; associate’s degree and 10 years; or high school diploma/GED and 12 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Experience in Medical Affairs within rare disease, immunology, rheumatology, or autoimmune disease.
• Experience with advisory boards, congresses, external expert engagement, evidence generation, and scientific communications.
• Strength in project management, scientific communication, cross-functional collaboration, and influence within a global matrixed organization.
• Ability to comply with applicable laws, industry regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies.
• Role based in Washington, D.C., United States; approximately 30% travel may be required.

Nice to have

• PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO.
• Strategic launch experience and familiarity with product lifecycle management.
