Senior Java/Kafka Developer (Banking)

Location: Asunción; remote within the Spain time zone

What you will do

• Contribute to a high-performing backend project in the banking industry.
• Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices.
• Design and integrate event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and other databases.
• Participate in Agile Scrum collaboration and software architecture decisions.
• Join a mandatory rotating on-call schedule, approximately one week every three to four months, to resolve critical incidents when required.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Advanced J2EE, Spring Boot, and Apache Kafka expertise.
• Experience with Java 8+, microservices, functional programming, JPA, software design and architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies, including TDD or BDD.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
• English proficiency at minimum B2 level and availability to work within the Spain time zone are required.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of API design and specification with OpenAPI 3/OAS3.
• Basic knowledge of reactive programming.
• Additional technical skills that contribute to the project.
