Security Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California; on-site

Salary: $180K–$350K annually, plus equity.

hirify.global is an applied AI lab building a large-scale search engine with web crawling infrastructure, embedding models, and vector databases.

What you will do

• Build the protective security layer for web-scale data processing, page indexing, foundational model training, GPU clusters, and enterprise endpoints.
• Design secrets management and rotation systems across distributed services, training jobs, and GPU clusters without slowing developer velocity.
• Build monitoring and alerting for anomalous behavior across APIs, internal services, and customer usage.
• Create security incident response playbooks and lead incident handling from detection through post-mortem.
• Help engineering systems operate securely while maintaining shipping velocity.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining secure infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals, including multi-account AWS permissions and architectures, IAM design, and secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Fluency in secrets management, key management, and certificate lifecycles, including rotation, revocation, and automation.
• Experience owning compliance efforts such as HIPAA and SOC 2.
• Comfort with security hardening and infrastructure details including VPNs and development servers.
• Strong vigilance toward vulnerabilities, potential attacks, abuse, and secure adoption of new technologies, including operating-system-level systems and AI coding agents.
