TL;DR
Facilities Technician (Medical Devices): Maintaining and improving facility equipment, building systems, and production-site services in a 24/7 medical device operation with an accent on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, cleanroom, and safety systems. Focus on rapid troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, contractor coordination, regulatory compliance, and reliable return to service across all shifts.

Location: Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia; onsite work with flexibility to support all shifts, Monday through Sunday, including some weekends

hirify.global is a medical device company developing the OmniPod insulin management platform and drug delivery systems for diabetes and other therapeutic areas.

What you will do

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve facility equipment and building systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, civil, HVAC, ELV, and cleanroom systems.
  • Perform daily maintenance, inspections, preventive maintenance, emergency response, and safety equipment testing.
  • Respond to maintenance requests within 30 minutes to 1 hour for initial assessment and complete work according to criticality and quality requirements.
  • Set up, relocate, and reconfigure office furniture, workstations, equipment, meeting rooms, and event spaces.
  • Support contractors, vendors, specialist technicians, audits, statutory inspections, and license renewals while checking work quality.
  • Maintain work orders, maintenance records, inventories, service dates, spare parts, tools, and facility documentation.

Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma in civil and plumbing, electrical and electronics, mechanical, mechatronics engineering, or an equivalent background.
  • 1–3 years of experience with facilities systems or in a high-volume manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, PCBA, or cleanroom environment.
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC, ELV, cleanroom systems, BMS, BAS, control systems, and environmental monitoring systems.
  • Electrical and software aptitude, troubleshooting ability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to work all shifts and some weekends; the role requires standing for at least 75% and walking for at least 50% of each shift.

Nice to have

  • AO or A4 Chargeman certificate.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical documentation, including deviations, investigations, preventive maintenance plans, calibration plans, SOPs, and monitoring logs.
  • Knowledge of solar energy systems and energy efficiency programs.
  • Fluency in English and Malay.
