Senior Silicon Engineer (Security)

Location: Tel Aviv or Herzliya, Israel; 3 days per week in the office

Company

Silicon engineering work within the WSSI team, developing advanced silicon subsystems for Windows client products.

What you will do

• Own microarchitecture and RTL design for complex silicon blocks and subsystems.
• Translate architecture and system requirements into efficient, high-quality hardware implementations.
• Collaborate with verification, firmware, system engineering, architecture, and physical design teams on interfaces, debugging, risks, and delivery.
• Contribute to subsystem integration, design reviews, quality checks, synthesis readiness, timing considerations, and handoff flows.
• Apply AI-assisted techniques to design productivity, debugging, documentation, automation, and quality improvements.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership within a fast-moving team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience designing RTL for complex IPs, subsystems, or SoCs.
• Hands-on experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog, microarchitecture definition, RTL implementation, design reviews, and design quality practices.
• Experience across silicon development activities such as verification collaboration, integration, synthesis readiness, timing considerations, or design closure.
• Microsoft Cloud background check required upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted silicon design workflows.
• Experience with security-oriented silicon, including crypto engines, memory protection, secure boot, or trusted execution.
• Experience with low-power design, performance optimization, clock/reset architecture, CDC/RDC, lint, synthesis, or timing closure.
• Experience as a technical leader, design owner, or mentor.
