L3 Laboratory Technician (Dairy Testing)

Location: On-site in Hamilton & North Waikato, New Zealand. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off.

What you will do

• Prepare samples and complete testing across a wide range of dairy products.
• Meet quality requirements within an accredited laboratory.
• Manage and troubleshoot specialised laboratory equipment.
• Enter data and use SAP, LIMS, Microsoft, and other computer systems.
• Manage consumables, prepare reagents, maintain records, and complete general laboratory housekeeping.
• Work safely with a cross-functional laboratory team to maintain compliance and drive improvements.

Requirements

• Laboratory background and a strong interest in laboratory work.
• Interest in science; a food science or science-based qualification is useful but not essential.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, strong time management, and commitment to following procedures.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Quality-focused approach, problem-solving ability, willingness to learn, and strong computer literacy.
• Ability to work on-site and occasionally lift items weighing 10–25 kg; good physical fitness is required.
