Lead Rack Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in New York, NY; Austin, TX; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Compensation: $208,000 – $263,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Own the rack as a product end-to-end, including architecture, power budget, cooling, and interconnect topology.
• Lead cross-functional teams of EE, ME, and thermal engineers to execute complex rack designs.
• Define and maintain interface control documents between rack and facility to ensure independent evolution of systems.
• Run rigorous design reviews to identify and resolve faults before field integration.
• Align rack roadmaps with accelerator vendor roadmaps and facility architecture.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in system architecture of rack-scale compute at a hyperscaler, ODM, or AI systems company.
• Proven track record of shipping dense liquid-cooled rack-scale products (NVL-class or equivalent).
• Deep expertise in power budgets, cooling architecture, interconnect topology, and serviceability.
• Experience leading EE, ME, and thermal engineering teams.
• Strong technical perspective on copper versus optics for scale-up interconnect at 200G+ per lane.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with transport and seismic qualification.
• Fluency in facility-side liquid cooling.
• Direct engagement with accelerator vendor roadmaps.
