Site Reliability Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Edinburgh, Manchester or Leeds, United Kingdom. Hybrid working requires at least two days per week, or 40% of working time, at one of the listed office sites.

Salary: £48,987–£54,430 per year.

What you will do

• Support the reliable operation of cloud-hosted applications and services, identifying and resolving issues before they affect customers.
• Contribute to DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering initiatives that improve resilience, availability and operational efficiency.
• Deploy, maintain and enhance cloud-based solutions, data pipelines and platform capabilities with engineering teams.
• Automate operational processes using scripting, infrastructure as code and software development practices.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
• Build monitoring, observability and service performance capabilities to improve operational insight and customer outcomes.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or equivalent experience gained through projects, training or certification.
• Experience with Python, PowerShell or Bash for automation and technical problem-solving.
• Understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices, including continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform, source control and software development practices.
• Strong systematic problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to engineering work.
• Ability to work in a hybrid pattern from the Edinburgh, Manchester or Leeds office sites at least two days per week or 40% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting production services, operational platforms or live environments.
• Familiarity with Dynatrace, Google SecOps, GitHub, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native engineering.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and Agile delivery teams.
• GCP certifications or evidence of hands-on learning and continuous professional development.
• Experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Software Engineering or Technical Operations.
