Litigation Paralegal

Location: Houston, TX; hybrid work opportunities available

Salary: $28–$43 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime is paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate.

What you will do

• Support attorneys with case management and litigation activities across civil litigation, personal injury, and construction defect matters.
• Propound and respond to discovery, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, requests for production, and subpoenas.
• Draft and proofread legal documents, prepare supporting documents and exhibits, and assemble deposition and hearing binders.
• Coordinate trial preparation, including witnesses and travel, trial exhibits, charts, trial notebooks, subpoenas, and page lines.
• Obtain, review, and organize medical records and billings; calculate medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, and other damages.
• Communicate with clients, experts, and attorneys regarding case status and preparation.

Requirements

• Paralegal certification and 3–5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Experience with civil litigation, insurance defense, or personal injury matters; Texas litigation experience is highly encouraged.
• Solid understanding of state and federal civil litigation deadlines and rules.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, as well as legal document management systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, organization, professionalism, and teamwork skills.
