TL;DR

Location: Essex Junction, Vermont, USA

Salary: $20.00–$40.00 per hour, determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

  • Analyze DC and RF measurement data for advanced SiGe HBT devices.
  • Develop a HiCUM L2 V3.0-based compact model for HBT devices.
  • Extract compact-model parameters using advanced device physics.
  • Develop procedures for incorporating new physical effects and propose improved modeling methods.
  • Compare avalanche effects at high current densities and non-quasistatic phenomena with measurement data.
  • Present project results to the technical team and follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Requirements

  • Be at least a second-year graduate student at the time of application and actively pursuing a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.
  • Study through an accredited degree program during the internship and maintain at least a 3.5 overall GPA in good academic standing.
  • English fluency is required for written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work 20–40 hours per week during the internship.

Nice to have

  • Semiconductor device physics, device characterization, and compact-modeling knowledge.
  • Familiarity with HiCUM, Cadence Spectre, Keysight ADS, or Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Knowledge of Python, Perl, Lisp, Matlab/R, or shell scripting.
  • Prior internship or co-op, leadership, project management, planning, communication, data-analysis, or problem-solving experience.
