What you will do
- Train and demonstrate how to translate legacy SAS programs to R.
- Develop R and SAS programs to validate surveillance study data and review their outputs.
- Verify dataset variables, formats, labels, calculated fields, lost interviews, and interview counts against source data.
- Identify discrepancies, omissions, inconsistencies, and errors in datasets, programs, outputs, and online data error logs.
- Generate data-quality and recruitment tables for key indicators and study areas.
- Review the quality of weights generated for venue-based sampling cycles and document proposed corrections.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in public health or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience generating SAS and R outputs.
- Strong R and SAS experience, advanced statistical knowledge, and experience working with multiple data sources to assess data quality.
- Scientific writing, supervisory, documentation, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience transferring legacy SAS programs to R.
- Knowledge of HIV data, public health surveillance systems, behavioral surveillance data, or Respondent Driven Sampling methodology.
- Experience with large document-based datasets containing more than 500,000 observations.
- Regression modeling, presentation, training, and technical assistance experience.
