SecOps Specialist (Cybersecurity)

Location: New York City, United States, for the stated compensation range; remote or HQ arrangements are referenced.

Salary: $124,000–$163,000 base salary annually for employees working remotely from New York or from the NYC HQ.

What you will do

• Investigate, triage, and analyze security alerts, incidents, artifacts, hosts, and malware.
• Coordinate investigation, containment, eradication, and remediation activities with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Develop incident findings reports for management, including security gaps and improvement recommendations.
• Develop new detection logic and tune sensors and security controls.
• Assess the ability of security solutions to detect and mitigate relevant tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Create custom SIEM queries and dashboards for monitoring advanced threats against the company network.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in incident response or a cybersecurity operations center.
• Experience managing cybersecurity events, alerts, incidents, vulnerabilities, and IT/DevOps security threats.
• At least 3 years of experience with SIEM, security analytics and intelligence, intrusion detection, malware detection, data loss prevention, and identity and access management tools.
• Strong understanding of system and security controls across at least two operating systems, including Windows and Linux/Unix; MacOS experience is an advantage.
• Experience with host-based forensics, OS artifact analysis, incident reporting, remediation collaboration, and incident runbooks.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with cloud services, Kubernetes, cloud architecture, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
