Senior Backend Engineer (Ruby), Plan: Spec-Driven Development (AI)

Base salary: 272,000–408,000 PLN per year

What you will do

• Lead backend features from product discussions and technical design through implementation, rollout, and post-launch learning.
• Build flows, APIs, and data models for agent-generated work items, implementation plans, durable specifications, and mergeable code.
• Develop evaluation and benchmarking systems to measure workflow quality, token cost, and success rate.
• Build reliable production systems with Ruby on Rails, Python, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, the hirify.global Duo Agent Platform, LLM APIs, and an AI gateway.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineers, design partners, and users to shape scope and make practical trade-offs.
• Coordinate projects, mentor engineers, communicate decisions in an asynchronous environment, and contribute to technical direction.

Requirements

• Strong Ruby on Rails experience in a large production codebase and production experience with Python.
• Experience driving substantial projects involving several engineers over multiple months with clear user or business outcomes.
• Experience owning features end to end, including scope definition, trade-offs, user engagement, and post-launch adoption analysis.
• Full-stack background with a current focus on backend engineering, the ability to read modern frontend code, and strong API design and SQL fundamentals.
• Experience exploring AI-assisted development and working independently across functions and regions.
• Location: residents of Poland; the role is remote in hirify.global's all-remote, asynchronous environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL.
• PostgreSQL performance at scale.
• Experience building or evaluating LLM or agent systems.
