TL;DR
System Development Engineer (AWS) (Java/Python/TypeScript): Building and operating scalable, resilient analytics systems for worldwide Operations with an accent on system design, production troubleshooting, and AWS-based development. 's ShipTech Analytics organization builds analytics and business review platforms used by the worldwide Operations team to plan, track, and improve performance.
What you will do
- Partner with Software Engineers on system design and coding for scalable, highly resilient systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across a large-scale analytics platform through troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Develop features across multiple services and technology stacks using Java, Python, TypeScript, and AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch.
- Design monitoring and alarming to maintain platform reliability, data freshness, and performance.
- Manage software deployments and supporting infrastructure in AWS and web technology environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and improve operational excellence through shared knowledge.
Requirements
- Professional experience in software and systems development or an equivalent role.
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, storage, and operating systems.
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS or other cloud technologies.
- Experience designing or architecting systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
