Head of Market Surveillance (Crypto)

What you will do

• Design and implement the market surveillance architecture, including policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and capability roadmaps.
• Own surveillance coverage across Spot, Futures, Options, Copy Trading, and Institutional/OTC products.
• Detect and mitigate wash trading, spoofing, layering, pump-and-dump schemes, front-running, abnormal trading patterns, and whale-concentration risks.
• Build and refine quantitative detection models, rule engines, alert thresholds, escalation protocols, and enforcement actions.
• Use data analytics and machine learning to improve detection precision and reduce false positives.
• Recruit, develop, and manage analysts, quant developers, and investigators while collaborating with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 3 years of market surveillance or trading risk control experience at a top-tier centralized exchange or equivalent financial institution.
• Deep familiarity with centralized exchange product mechanics and risks that can lead to customer disputes or financial losses.
• Strong understanding of market manipulation typologies, detection methodologies, and surveillance strategy development.
• Hands-on experience developing strategies or rules and analyzing data with SQL, Python, or similar tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with MiCA, MAS, JFSA, or equivalent regulatory frameworks for crypto trading platforms.
• Experience building market surveillance systems from the ground up.
• Familiarity with real-time streaming architectures such as Flink and Kafka and ML-based anomaly detection.
• Multilingual communication skills, particularly English and Mandarin.
