Senior Specialist - Industrial IoT (Progress OpenEdge)

Location: Mexico; remote work model

Salary: 80,000 MXN monthly before taxes, plus benefits; negotiable.

What you will do

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support business-critical applications built on Progress OpenEdge 10.2B.
• Design and implement solutions using Progress ABL/4GL.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and functional solutions.
• Troubleshoot runtime, compile, database connectivity, integration, performance, and functionality issues.
• Review and modify complex legacy code while maintaining application stability.
• Collaborate with analysts, functional teams, stakeholders, and global development teams on enhancements, production fixes, testing, deployments, and releases.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge 10.2B and Progress ABL/4GL development.
• Experience with MFGPRO and/or QAD ERP applications and enterprise-scale business applications.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including database connectivity and application integration issues.
• Ability to maintain and enhance legacy application codebases.
• Experience with version control, release management, SDLC methodologies, and software engineering best practices.
• For offshore positions: advanced spoken and written English. For onshore positions: fluent spoken and written Spanish; English is preferred.

• Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or ERP-driven environments.
• Exposure to application modernization and system integration initiatives.
• Experience with Agile and hybrid development environments.
