What you will do

  • Architect and design state estimation algorithms for eVTOL aircraft, balancing safety, performance, robustness, and computational efficiency.
  • Implement algorithms primarily in Simulink and follow aerospace modeling standards and best practices.
  • Integrate estimation solutions with air data systems, INS, GNSS, and other aviation-grade sensors.
  • Develop sensor models for nominal, degraded, and failure scenarios.
  • Plan and execute verification and validation through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and flight testing.
  • Analyze test data, build engineering tools, and collaborate with controls, hardware, software, and test engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related engineering field, with 60 months of experience in sensor fusion algorithm development and sensor modeling and simulation.
  • Alternatively, a PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related engineering field with 36 months of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing sensor fusion algorithms and modeling and simulating sensors.
  • Ability to synthesize system requirements and solve cross-functional aircraft-level integration problems.
  • Work location: San Jose, California, United States.
