Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

  • Build and lead the applied research function for infrastructure risk and resilience.
  • Direct a team of researchers and establish standards for risk modeling, uncertainty quantification, and decision-making.
  • Develop predictive models for equipment damage, vegetation failure, outage likelihood and duration, and wildfire-related risk.
  • Design decision models that quantify the operational and economic impact of resilience and reliability investments.
  • Measure the value of additional data, inspections, devices, and remote-sensing capabilities using empirical and analytical methods.
  • Shape hirify.global’s research agenda, product roadmap, analytical standards, and customer advisory services.

Requirements

  • PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, physics, computer science, operations research, engineering, or a comparable record of original research and applied technical work.
  • Experience independently defining and leading a substantial research program as a group leader or industry principal.
  • Evidence of influential publications, patents, or production systems.
  • Experience building technical teams and setting research direction.
  • Extensive experience in probabilistic modeling, uncertainty quantification, model validation, scientific computing, and decision-making under incomplete information.
  • Substantial experience modeling operational systems, particularly insurance or catastrophe modeling, weather and climate hazards, power-system outages, or reliability engineering.
