Sourcing Specialist – Lab and R&D Equipment

Location: Bangalore, India. Travel required up to 20% of the time. Relocation eligible.

What you will do

• Execute end-to-end sourcing projects for laboratory and R&D equipment, including RFx development, supplier communication, bid evaluation, and award support.
• Select sourcing approaches such as RFPs, competitive bidding, benchmarking, and targeted negotiation based on project tier, risk, and investment thresholds.
• Act as the primary execution contact for equipment stakeholders and suppliers during sourcing events.
• Support commercial negotiations with Legal and the Contracting Center of Excellence.
• Complete sourcing documentation, Capital Approval Requests, purchase requisitions, approvals, and handoffs in an audit-ready manner.
• Support supplier onboarding and post-award handoffs while contributing to sourcing playbooks, templates, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
• More than 10 years of relevant experience executing sourcing projects for laboratory and R&D equipment or engineering-related spend.
• Strong RFx execution, supplier communication, and documentation skills.
• Strong exposure to procurement systems, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to work independently within a governance-driven, tiered sourcing model.
• Demonstrated judgment in managing supplier risk, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.

Nice to have

• Experience sourcing laboratory and R&D equipment in manufacturing, laboratory, or engineering environments.
• Experience with Capital Approval Request-driven processes.
• Experience working in multi-site or global enterprise environments.
