Cryptography Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: McLean, Virginia — on-site; standard business hours; minimal travel of 0–10%

Salary: $219,900–$268,800 annually for the Virginia area

What you will do

• Analyze software applications and systems to identify security gaps, vulnerabilities, and cryptographic weaknesses.
• Assess cryptographic implementations, algorithms, protocols, and technologies.
• Review software and system architectures for secure cryptographic practices.
• Recommend technical solutions, enhancements, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Provide cryptography subject matter expertise and collaborate with technical stakeholders on secure solutions.
• Produce technical assessments, findings, and recommendations for leadership and customer review.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• At least 12 years of experience performing cryptography-related work in classified environments.
• Experience with Computer Network Exploitation (CNE) and access development.
• Strong knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, methodologies, techniques, network protocols, and communications technologies.
• Experience reviewing and resolving cryptography-related issues and vulnerabilities, analyzing software, and identifying associated risks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical recommendations.

Nice to have

• Experience with cryptographic hardware solutions and devices.
• Familiarity with commercial and government cryptographic software products.
• Experience supporting intelligence community or national security missions.
• Knowledge of secure software development principles and cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience performing vulnerability assessments or security research.
