Advanced Engineer, Investment Technology

Location: Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom; at least four full days each week in the advertised office

What you will do

• Build, test, deploy, and support applications and services, including Streamlit- and React-based tools, in the cloud environment.
• Design, develop, and maintain software, data pipelines, and analytical workflows that generate investment analytics and insights.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools and AI/ML or GenAI techniques to accelerate delivery and solve business problems.
• Implement CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, observability, and data quality controls for production-ready solutions.
• Identify and resolve technical problems, supporting monitoring, reporting, and process administration activities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, Cloud Teams, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and end users.

Requirements

• Commercial software engineering experience across requirements, design, build, test, deployment, and support.
• Good knowledge of Python and SQL, plus experience with a cloud data platform such as Snowflake or PostgreSQL.
• Awareness of AWS compute, storage, networking, and security services.
• Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, observability, and data quality controls.
• Experience working with business stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML, GenAI, LLMs, RAG, agent-based workflows, or AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
• Knowledge of Streamlit or React, Snowflake integration patterns on AWS, and the AI/ML model lifecycle.
• Experience in financial services, asset management, investment technology, or an agile environment.
• AWS or AI/ML certifications and awareness of enterprise architecture, security, and financial-services regulations.
