is a Europe-based fusion company developing stellarator machines and the hardware and infrastructure for a commercial fusion power plant.
What you will do
- Own the design, delivery, and operation of the AI agent platform, including durable sessions, sandboxed execution, long-running tasks, memory, and tool integration.
- Evaluate emerging agent frameworks, models, protocols, and orchestration patterns, turning suitable solutions into stable platform primitives.
- Co-design integrations connecting agents with enterprise tools and the scientific computing stack.
- Build permission, approval, audit, security, cost, and token-control mechanisms for safe and governable autonomy.
- Develop evaluation, tracing, observability, and quality-monitoring capabilities for non-deterministic systems.
- Operate production workloads on Google Cloud with a focus on reliability, failure handling, and user feedback.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python and distributed backend systems expertise.
- Experience architecting, building, and operating production-grade agentic or LLM systems beyond the prototype stage.
- Hands-on knowledge of MCP, agent SDKs and CLIs, multi-agent orchestration, and sandboxed code execution.
- Production experience with Kubernetes and a major cloud platform, ideally Google Cloud, including stateful and long-running services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and CI/CD.
- Strong security, evaluation, observability, platform thinking, communication, and consensus-building skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with model gateways and routing.
- Exposure to scientific or high-performance computing, batch schedulers, HPC clusters, or simulation-heavy environments.
- Open-source contributions to AI or agent tooling.
- Technical mentorship experience.
