Site Reliability Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hybrid work is required, with office attendance on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Base salary: $100,000–$125,000 CAD annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Drive incident response and post-mortem processes to support continuous improvement.
• Design, build, and improve internal tools and automation software for safer production service maintenance.
• Lead reliability practices including SLO design, failure analysis, load and capacity planning, service reviews, and architecture design.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and provide timely support during critical system incidents.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience in an object-oriented or modern language, preferably .NET or TypeScript.
• Experience with large-scale, high-traffic platforms at an end-product company.
• Hands-on experience with production deployment and end-to-end application lifecycle ownership.
• Knowledge of architecture and application design, with strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Understanding of lower-level software frameworks and networking.
• Experience with distributed monitoring, logging, metrics, and tracing using OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.
• Experience with Bash, PowerShell, Python, SRE work, or cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
