Senior Java & Angular Software Engineer – Financial Services

Location: Porto, Portugal — hybrid. Candidates must have an existing legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Design and develop complex end-to-end features across Java backend services, databases, and Angular user interfaces.
• Define and refine scalable microservices architecture, REST APIs, and performance optimization strategies.
• Deliver modular, secure, and maintainable application code aligned with specifications and timelines.
• Ensure code quality through automated testing, code reviews, Clean Code, Hexagonal Architecture, and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, and DevOps specialists to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide Tier 3 support for complex production issues.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in fullstack web application development and large-scale API-driven architectures.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, microservices, database persistence, and API design experience.
• Extensive experience with modern Angular, TypeScript, and responsive UI development.
• Solid knowledge of Microservices, Hexagonal Architecture, RESTful APIs, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine/Karma, Cypress, and CI/CD pipelines.
• French at C1/C2 level is required for daily collaboration with French stakeholders; professional English is required for international communication and documentation.

• Experience in corporate banking, financial services, or leasing software.
• Exposure to cloud-native platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and UI/UX design systems.
