Technical Research Analyst (Gaming)

Location: Full-time, in-office position in Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $79,000–$95,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Research third-party software, SaaS products, and emerging technology tools, providing concise summaries for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Coordinate software tool intake by collecting requirements, clarifying submissions, routing questions, and tracking requests.
• Work with business stakeholders, IT, security, and governance teams to capture feedback and escalate risks or blockers.
• Support review meetings by preparing status reports, documenting decisions, and maintaining action items, owners, and due dates.
• Communicate with vendors about product features, releases, and cost models.
• Maintain a tool inventory, identify overlaps, support standardization, and flag issues such as unmaintained codebases, poor community health, data transfer risks, or overly broad permissions.

Requirements

• Strong research skills covering business needs and third-party product offerings.
• Organizational skills to manage, prioritize, and document concurrent requests.
• Experience with tool intake research and routing or escalating risks to IT and Security.
• Experience creating status reports and summaries for varied stakeholders.
• Foundational familiarity with big data, analytics, and LLM terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, service-minded approach.

Nice to have

• Experience with ticketing or work management tools such as ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with user access, identity management, and basic networking.
• Exposure to SaaS and software tools used in media or gaming environments.
