Senior Security Engineer, AI Infrastructure (AI)

Location: On-site in Dunkirk, NY, United States; Monday–Friday during standard business hours, with manager-approved flexibility.

Annual base pay: $135,000–$150,000, plus discretionary bonus and equity award.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain security architectures for AI infrastructure, including model hosting, registries, feature stores, vector databases, and agent orchestration platforms.
• Engineer IAM, RBAC/ABAC policies, secrets management, and key and token lifecycle controls for AI services, agents, tools, and data stores.
• Implement sandboxing, least-privilege tool access, network segmentation, and other guardrails for agentic workflows.
• Build logging and observability pipelines covering prompts, tool calls, model outputs, agent actions, and data access paths.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, incident response, and forensics for AI platforms, models, agents, datasets, and third-party services.
• Partner with DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, Data Science, Compliance, and Legal on secure CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, governance, documentation, and audit readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud security, or platform security.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based platforms, microservices, serverless infrastructure, and security hardening.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, secrets management, distributed-system security, data protection, DLP, encryption, masking, and access monitoring.
• Ability to apply NIST CSF, NIST RMF, NIST AI RMF, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 Type 2 controls to technical security programs.
• Ability to work on-site in Dunkirk, NY and use standard office equipment; the role may require lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 30 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience securing AI/ML or LLM-based systems, including model endpoints, registries, or AI gateways.
• Experience in a regulated industry or with NIST AI RMF, SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent frameworks.
• Familiarity with agentic AI systems, workflow engines, multi-step planners, and their security risks.
