Senior AI Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Dunkirk, New York, United States; onsite. Monday–Friday during standard business hours, with flexibility subject to manager approval.

Annual base pay: $135,000–$150,000, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus and equity award.

What you will do

• Design and implement security controls for AI/ML platforms, including training environments, inference services, data pipelines, and feature stores.
• Threat-model AI systems and address model theft, data poisoning, prompt injection, model inversion, adversarial inputs, and generative AI misuse.
• Build security tooling, automation, monitoring, abuse detection, anomaly alerts, and security telemetry for AI workloads.
• Secure LLM APIs, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, agents, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, GPU clusters, model registries, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with data science, ML, platform, product, security, and incident response teams on secure development, red teaming, investigations, and compromise analysis.
• Define AI security policies, standards, guardrails, SOPs, and responsible-use practices while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience designing and implementing production security controls.
• Practical experience with AI/ML systems, ML pipelines, LLM applications, vector search, or MLOps platforms.
• Experience with authentication and authorization, secrets management, network segmentation, secure CI/CD, services, and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, AI/ML threats, secure software development, and security design reviews.
• Proficiency in Python or another major programming language, plus experience with ML stacks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, SageMaker, Vertex AI, or Azure ML.

Nice to have

• Experience securing generative AI applications, including RAG architectures, AI agents, chatbots, or code assistants.
• Experience with SIEM, data lakes, security analytics, and AI-related detections.
• Cloud security, offensive security, or AI-focused certifications.
• Familiarity with NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC AI standards, and cloud-provider AI security guidance.
