Construction Project Manager (Biotech)

Location: Piscataway, New Jersey, United States; fully onsite

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Plan and coordinate interior renovations, fit-outs, facility upgrades, commissioning, and validation within existing buildings.
• Evaluate potential sites, technical feasibility, constraints, costs, test fits, requirements, and project timelines.
• Coordinate design firms, contractors, consultants, suppliers, procurement, bidding, contracts, and long-lead equipment.
• Manage technical, quality, safety, schedule, permitting, inspections, and approvals for projects in occupied or partially occupied facilities.
• Coordinate communication between design teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders while resolving issues and bottlenecks.
• Oversee factory acceptance tests, commissioning, validation, and weekly progress reporting to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive construction project management experience, preferably in interior renovations, facility fit-outs, and upgrades.
• Hands-on experience with design coordination, test fits, cost evaluation, and MEP system studies.
• Required experience managing HVAC projects; laboratory, cleanroom, or biopharmaceutical renovation experience is highly desired.
• Strong project management, leadership, communication, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple renovation projects while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6.
• Familiarity with construction estimating and scheduling tools.
• Understanding of U.S. building codes, local renovation permitting, safety regulations, and biopharmaceutical standards such as cGMP.
