Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote

Job type: Contractor, approximately 15 hours per week.

What you will do

• Create reinforcement learning environments that test AI models on complex software engineering problems.
• Build tasks involving bug fixes, feature implementation, code refactoring, and performance optimization.
• Use Model Context Protocol tools and real MCP servers to evaluate information discovery and reasoning.
• Design reproducible environments, deterministic verification, and golden reference solutions.
• Measure AI agents’ MCP tool usage and software engineering capabilities through high-quality, real-world input.

Requirements

• Proficiency in C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance tuning, debugging, feature development, and codebase refactoring.
• Experience delivering maintainable, scalable software solutions and optimizing software performance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail.
• Successful experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams, ideally in remote settings.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale, distributed codebases.
• Familiarity with modern AI or machine learning systems.
• Experience with rigorous code reviews and software engineering best practices.
