Manager Manufacturing Solution Prep - Nights (Biotech Manufacturing)

Location: West Greenwich, Rhode Island, United States. Onboarding lasts 2–6 weeks on an approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. administrative schedule, followed by a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a rotating C or D shift covering 7 days per week.

What you will do

• Lead on-floor manufacturing operations and staff while maintaining safe, compliant, and reliable production.
• Supervise, coach, hire, onboard, evaluate, and develop manufacturing employees.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, Process Development, Supply Chain, and other site functions.
• Drive continuous improvement, change initiatives, standardization, throughput, efficiency, and reliability.
• Plan cross-training and resource allocation across manufacturing areas through the Agile Workforce model.
• Use metrics, audit outcomes, process data, and staff feedback to identify risks, trends, and performance improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED plus 12 years of Manufacturing and Operations experience; or an associate degree plus 10 years; or a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years; or a master’s degree plus 3 years; or a doctorate.
• Direct people-management or leadership experience involving teams, projects, programs, or resource allocation.
• Experience leading manufacturing operations in a dynamic production environment.
• Ability to work the required 12-hour night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a rotating schedule.
• Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, change-management, team-building, and relationship-building skills.

Nice to have

• Background in life sciences or engineering.
• Experience in cGMP or another highly regulated environment.
• Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Performance-management experience, including coaching, conflict resolution, and reviews.
• Fluency with digital tools for daily management, data analysis, visualization, and AI applications such as Copilot or ChatGPT.
