Senior Platform Engineer (AWS)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure as code using AWS CDK or similar tools.
• Operate core AWS services, including ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, EKS, Kubernetes, WAF, CloudFront, load balancers, DNS, and TLS certificates.
• Partner with application teams to deliver scalable, reliable platform capabilities and provide architectural guidance.
• Implement cloud security practices covering IAM, network security, encryption, access controls, SOC 2, and PCI compliance.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, infrastructure testing, monitoring, and cost-optimization initiatives.
• Lead incident response, proof-of-concepts, technical-debt reduction, documentation, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 5+ years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, independent-working, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Experience with infrastructure design, cloud operations, and scalable platform capabilities.

Nice to have

• Strong AWS RDS and database engineering experience, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability.
• Platform engineering or internal developer platform experience.
• Advanced Kubernetes knowledge, including building controllers and operators.
• Ruby on Rails or a comparable application stack, observability tools such as CloudWatch or Datadog, and experience designing fault-tolerant infrastructure.
