Database Admin (SQL Server)

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days working from home

Starting salary: minimum €27,833.90 per year

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and monitor relational database environments.
• Optimize SQL Server performance through query tuning, indexing, and database performance analysis.
• Manage backup, recovery, security controls, access management, encryption, auditing, and data governance.
• Design and implement scalable, highly available database solutions with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
• Automate database administration and monitoring tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and other tools.
• Provide production support, incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on SQL Server DBA and/or development experience in enterprise environments.
• Advanced T-SQL skills, including complex query development, performance tuning, and indexing strategies.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, internals, and high-availability technologies such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, clustering, and replication.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation, monitoring, and administrative task optimization.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with three days per week in the Bratislava office.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or Python for automation.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or another major cloud platform.
• Familiarity with Datadog, SolarWinds, or equivalent monitoring and observability tools.
