What you will do

• Deploy NEXUS use cases into production and demonstrate measurable business impact over legacy baselines or new use cases.
• Collaborate directly with Oil & Gas customers and stakeholders across IT, C-suite, data science, Sales, and Solution Architecture.
• Conduct rigorous benchmarking against XGBoost and LightGBM, including data engineering, feature engineering, and validation.
• Translate operational pain points and data anomalies into inputs for the research and product roadmaps.
• Define technical strategies for selecting business problems, preventing data leakage, and optimizing models.
• Support last-mile integrations across VPC, on-premises, and air-gapped environments, and explain model predictions to business users.

Requirements

• PhD or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, or equivalent statistical expertise.
• 7+ years of technical individual-contributor experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Applied Science, or ML Engineering.
• Strong experience working directly with customers or business stakeholders in complex enterprise or industrial environments.
• Experience with Docker, orchestration, and performant APIs using FastAPI or Flask.
• Expertise across the end-to-end machine-learning pipeline, including framing, preprocessing, algorithms, and validation strategies.
• Strong data-handling and memory-optimization skills with PySpark and Pandas, alongside clear technical communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with PyTorch and cloud-native ML pipelines on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Oil & Gas, energy, utilities, industrial, logistics, or heavy-asset domain experience.
• Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Staff Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or Staff Data Scientist.
• Industry-based subject-matter expertise.
