Trading Systems Engineer

What you will do

• Support proprietary trading systems across testing and production environments.
• Monitor system health and troubleshoot incidents involving software, markets, data feeds, telecommunications, and connectivity.
• Deploy and configure software, automate rollout procedures, and improve change management.
• Develop process automation and monitoring tools using internal and third-party technologies.
• Maintain high availability of trading systems and support market connectivity with exchanges.
• Collaborate with DBAs, development, QA, infrastructure, back-office, and management teams during releases and technical investigations.

Requirements

• Experience supporting high-performance applications, monitoring processes, and troubleshooting production issues.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including multicast, TCP, and routing.
• Basic scripting skills with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools.
• Experience working in Linux environments and across primarily Linux-based multi-platform production systems.
• Flexibility to work slightly varied hours according to trading activity.
• B.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Trading systems support experience.
• FIX protocol and alternative exchange protocol experience.
• Chef or Ansible configuration management experience.
• Docker container experience.
• Experience with Splunk, Kibana, Grafana, or similar monitoring suites.
