US Equity Index Options Trader

Location: Chicago, United States

Annual base salary: $250,000–$300,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Trade US index and equity options while managing positions and risk.
• Analyze market flows, volatility, and market microstructure to identify trading opportunities.
• Refine pricing, execution, and risk management approaches to improve performance.
• Conduct post-trade analysis to evaluate decisions and optimize strategies.
• Contribute to tools, monitoring, and processes that improve trading stability and scalability.
• Collaborate with risk management, research, and development teams during live trading and high-pressure situations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an index options trader with exposure to US markets or similar equity derivatives.
• Strong trading performance record and disciplined risk management.
• Deep understanding of options theory, volatility, and market microstructure.
• Ability to trade using both systematic and discretionary approaches.
• Calm, analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to diagnosing trading problems and identifying improvements.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
