Senior Public Sector Business Analyst (AI)

Location: Rome, Italy, with smart working possibility and a hybrid work model.

Salary: gross annual base salary starting from €40,000.

What you will do

• Lead client interviews, gather requirements, analyze business processes, and define and validate effective solutions.
• Document and design as-is and to-be processes and customer environments to improve lead time, throughput, cost, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and transform client business and IT strategies and contribute to large digital transformation engagements with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare proposals, bids, Statements of Work, presentations, workshops, and other professional client deliverables.
• Identify risks and assumptions, shape program governance, and monitor alignment with stakeholders and business needs.
• Guide and mentor junior and mid-level colleagues and contribute to hiring interviews for analytical and functional competencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics.
• Proven experience in Management Consulting, ideally within the Public Sector domain.
• Advanced expertise in business process analysis, functional requirements gathering, and business solution design.
• Hands-on experience with Business Analysis and requirements management tools across waterfall and agile delivery models, including Microsoft Visio, Enterprise Architect, Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge and practical use of AI and Generative AI tools for document and data analysis, stakeholder interview preparation, requirements elicitation and refinement, process study, gap analysis, synthesis of findings, and executive-level deliverables, with human validation and critical review of AI-generated outputs.
• Strong relational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with a focus on goals and results.
• Ability to work in a team, guide and mentor junior and mid-level colleagues, and manage priorities autonomously across multiple engagements.
• Effective communication with technical and business stakeholders at different levels, including clients.
• Italian mother tongue and good written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Business Analysis certifications, particularly IIBA CBAP, IIBA CCBA, or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA).
