Investment Strategist (Wealth Management)

Salary: $128,100–$213,500 annually

M&T Bank provides banking and wealth management services, with this role supporting investment strategy and research for Wealth clients and the broader Bank.

What you will do

• Develop monthly investment strategy content for Tactical Asset Allocation recommendations, portfolio guidance, and Investment and Portfolio Management Committees.
• Collaborate with Investment Strategists and the Head of Investment Strategy to finalize investment guidance for Wealth clients and Bank-wide market updates.
• Research investment strategy topics using research providers and academic literature, recreating analyses and providing independent analysis.
• Write internal and external content covering the economy, markets, and the firm’s investment views.
• Support client-facing Advisors as a subject matter expert and participate in meetings, presentations, and business-development discussions.
• Maintain compliance with risk, regulatory, internal control, and audit standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of investment experience, or an equivalent combination of higher education and work experience totaling at least nine years, including five years of investment experience.
• Understanding of the complete investment process and basic knowledge of equity, fixed-income, and alternative asset classes.
• Proficiency with personal computers and spreadsheet software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to present investment and market topics to audiences with varying levels of knowledge.

Nice to have

• Master of Business Administration degree.
• Chartered Financial Analyst certification.
• Capital markets or investment management industry experience.
