What you will do

  • Own assigned combustion components from initial design through manufacturing, testing, qualification, and flight.
  • Make technical decisions for combustion hardware across its complete product lifecycle.
  • Develop highly performant and manufacturable propulsion components for the Terran R engine.
  • Coordinate component development across propulsion, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Support exploration of future engine modifications, including thrust upgrades, new cycles, and mass-production design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing propulsion components, combustion components, or related hardware.
  • Applied engineering fundamentals in thermodynamics, thermal engineering, structural engineering, and fluid dynamics.
  • Work location: Long Beach, California, United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience in rocket engine development or testing.
  • Demonstrated ownership in school or work experience.
  • Working knowledge of combustion devices, heat exchangers, or ducting.
  • Exposure to powder bed additive manufacturing and automation techniques.
