Company

hirify.global develops autonomous aircraft and defense technology.

What you will do

  • Design and develop primary and secondary structural components and assemblies for next-generation autonomous UAVs.
  • Execute the full design lifecycle, including conceptual development, CAD modeling, detailed design, and drawing release.
  • Perform hand stress and strain calculations and limited basic FEA with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, payload, manufacturing, and flight-test teams on airframe integration.
  • Support coupon, subcomponent, and system-level structural validation, including failure analysis and design iteration.
  • Prepare drawings, interface definitions, analysis reports, and aerospace-compliant design documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in aircraft structural design or closely related aerospace structures.
  • Experience designing and releasing structural components in development or production environments.
  • Working knowledge of composite and metallic structures, fasteners, bonded joints, load paths, GD&T, tolerance stackups, and DFMA.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Ability to work on-site in the United States; ability to obtain an S//SAR-level security clearance is desired.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with UAV, DoD, or aerospace vehicle programs.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD, ASME Y14.5, FAA standards, composite manufacturing, or hardware test support.
  • Experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, or similar FEA tools for linear structural analysis.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on design work in a fast-paced, high-ownership engineering environment.
  • Cross-functional collaboration across aircraft development and manufacturing disciplines.
  • Opportunity to take increasing ownership of flight-critical designs through testing and deployment.
