Senior Cyber Threat Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Boston, United States

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 base salary annually for NJ/MA, plus annual bonus target.

What you will do

• Produce strategic and operational cyber threat intelligence reports, briefings, and threat landscape updates for stakeholders and senior leaders.
• Monitor open-source, closed-source, and vendor intelligence to identify emerging threats, vulnerabilities, geopolitical risks, and defensive opportunities.
• Develop threat profiles and TTP catalogs for relevant threat actors using the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Plan and conduct threat hunts across SIEM logs and security tools to identify anomalous or malicious activity.
• Enhance SOC and incident response procedures, escalation playbooks, detection capabilities, and threat-informed patch prioritization.
• Collaborate with Red Team, Cyber Incident Management, Vulnerability Management, DLP, and other security teams on assessments, investigations, exercises, and insider-risk initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; significant relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence, Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, or related roles.
• Familiarity with the Intelligence Cycle, Threat Intelligence Platforms, and the MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
• Strong analytical, prioritization, collaboration, and communication skills, including the ability to communicate findings at tactical, operational, and strategic levels.
• Ability to assess cyber threats, vulnerabilities, risks, and geopolitical developments affecting organizational security.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services and familiarity with NYDFS, FFIEC, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SWIFT CSF, or OWASP.
• Experience developing custom detection rules with Splunk SPL or Microsoft KQL.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview Insider Risk Management, EDR/AV, IDS/IPS, firewalls, WAF, DLP, UEBA, email gateways, and sandboxing.
• Certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GSEC, GCTI, CTIA, CEH, or Security+.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, SQL, or PowerShell.
