Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite position. The role may require overtime or weekend work for critical mission milestones. Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires U.S. person status or eligibility for deemed export licensing.

Salary: $120,540–$171,100 USD per year

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain data acquisition and controls software for test teams at the Long Beach site.
  • Create software tools and establish standards for test assets and testing practices.
  • Design, implement, and own complex control systems for testing space-rated hardware, covering hardware and software components.
  • Collaborate with software, thermal, manufacturing, propulsion, ECLSS, and mechanical test teams to define capabilities and improve testing practices.
  • Troubleshoot and debug test assets to resolve issues and maintain system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of applied experience with programmable logic controllers or similar embedded systems.
  • Working knowledge of wire harnessing, electrical diagrams, and signal processing.
  • Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and debugging mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
  • Coding proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, C#, C++, JavaScript, or Structured Text.
  • Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing to access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of experience with TwinCAT programming and Beckhoff hardware.
  • Working knowledge of Git, GitLab, software development, and instrumentation selection.
  • Familiarity with ATP/QTP spaceflight testing processes.
  • Understanding of EtherCAT, Profinet, and other industrial communication protocols.
  • Understanding of UL508A, NFPA 70, ISO 13849, and related industrial standards.
